Born and raised in the Rondo neighborhood in Minnesota, Walter McFarland (Mac) carries the rich history of this community with him in every piece he creates. The Rondo neighborhood, once a thriving hub of business, talent, and culture, was tragically displaced during the construction of Highway 94 in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Despite this, the spirit of Rondo lives on through us, and Mac honors that legacy by infusing every product with the pride, resilience, and creativity that defined the community.

The Meaning
LutcherSole was named after two key elements in Mac's life. "Lutcher" refers to a small town in Louisiana where Mac's grandmother was born, while "Sole" represents the sole of your feet-symbolizing the foundation of the craft and the legacy behind it. The three simple letters, ROR, stand for "Raised On Rondo," a powerful reminder of the values and spirit Mac continues to uphold in his work.

Having spent years as a corporate executive and management consultant, Mac always enjoyed helping others share their passions.
